True BloodDuring the “True Blood” panel at the 2010 San Diego Comic-Com, series creator Alan Ball promised the crowd that “Hallow will be a ‘big’ character in Season Four”. Those who have read Charlaine Harris’ books on which the show is based seemed happy, but the rest of us were left pretty much in the dark as to who or what “Hallow” is … until now.

Here’s the skinny from The Ausiello Files on EW.com: Ball reveals that he’ll be introducing Hallow Stonebrook, the were-sorceress from Harris’ fourth Sookie novel, Dead to the World. Preferring to refer to the character as a necromancer, the boss man says she’s “actually a medium. She communicates with the dead, and she’s interested in developing further powers.”

In the book Hallow casts a spell on Eric [and is] described as a tall, trim brunette.

Well, we’ve had vampires, shapeshifters, werewolves, maenads, and more so it’s about damn time witches were given their due!
