We are just days away from the scariest film of the summer, Daniel Stamms’ The Last Exorcism (review here), hitting theatres, and Lionsgate has conjured up a really unique way to involve YOU in its marketing!
As a frequent visitor to this site and others, we’re sure that you’ve seen plenty of our quotes during trailers and TV spots. Well, the time has come for you to have your own voice and become a “Twitic”.
Since horror films usually take on a life of their own thanks to the word of mouth of the fans, the Gate wants to give you your chance to shine. How does this work? It’s pretty simple, really! Twitter + movie critics = Twitics!
If you have caught or are planning to catch one of the many free The Last Exorcism screenings that are happening throughout the country, get on Twitter (sign up here if you don’t already have an account) and post your thoughts by using the hashtag #lastexorcism to make sure that they get seen by the powers that be. If your comments make the cut, they could be used in an upcoming TV spot for the movie!
There will also be a TWITIC app soon, which will allow you to add your own review, quote, and/or tweet to a TV spot online and send to a friend. Pretty damned cool, no?

Synopsis
When he arrives on the rural Louisiana farm of Louis Sweetzer, the Reverend Cotton Marcus expects to perform just another routine “exorcism” on a disturbed religious fanatic. An earnest fundamentalist, Sweetzer has contacted the charismatic preacher as a last resort, certain his teenage daughter Nell is possessed by a demon who must be exorcized before their terrifying ordeal ends in unimaginable tragedy.
Buckling under the weight of his conscience after years of parting desperate believers with their money, Cotton and his crew plan to film a confessionary documentary of this, his last exorcism. But upon arriving at the already blood-drenched family farm, it is soon clear that nothing could have prepared him for the true evil he encounters there. Now, too late to turn back, Reverend Marcus’ own beliefs are shaken to the core when he and his crew must find a way to save Nell – and themselves – before it is too late.
The Last Exorcism is written by Huck Botko and Andrew Gurland and directed by Daniel Stamm. Strike Entertainment and STUDIOCANAL present an Arcade Pictures production.
