DVD and Blu-ray Releases: September 13, 2016

Greetings and salutations, friends. This week is loaded with tempting releases so I will do my best to touch all bases. There were two releases due out that got pushed back: A House Is Not a Home and Killer Ink have each been pushed back by a couple of weeks but will be listed in upcoming release lists.
The biggest title this week would probably have to be The Conjuring 2. Based off the infamous Enfield haunting, this film continues the quest of the Warrens – the paranormal investigators from Connecticut.
Our television section has two titles this week, and both of them are pretty cool in their own ways. First up is the complete first season of “Masters of Horror,” boasting a slew of A-list actors and directors in the genre. The second title is “The Munsters” complete series box set. This is a great entry-level item for those parents looking to introduce their children to this weird thing we’re into.
As for classics – there is a veritable smorgasbord of older content this week. Evil Dead II has fancy new packaging for its Blu-ray. Universal is delivering to us The Wolf Man and Frankenstein by means of Blu-ray Legacy Collections from as far back as 1931. Aliens is 30 years old; they made a Blu-ray to prove it. One of our collections is an 8-movie set from Hammer Films. There are even more classics listed below.
Concerning our collections (not including the two mentioned above), not only can you purchase The Ring and The Ring 2 separately this week, you can buy them as a double feature. The folks over at Blumhouse are bringing us a 4-movie collection this week. There’s even a 6-movie Paranormal Activity collection coming to you this week.

Deadly Intent (2016)

Synopsis:
After the tragic death of her soldier husband, Bryony tries to build a new life for herself and her young son, James. Bryony confesses to Lisa that when her husband, Steve, last returned home from Afghanistan he had been suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and had been possessive and violent. Eventually Bryony had become so frightened that she had run away and taken James with her. As the paranormal incidents become increasingly threatening, Bryony realizes that Steve’s spirit has returned to reclaim his son. Now she has to find a way to confront Steve as she knows that, if she cannot find a way to stop him, she and James will be separated for ever.

Knucklebones (2016)

Synopsis:
After suffering a near-death experience, Neesa Avery (Julin Jean) has literally been to Hell and back. When she and a group of friends (Katie Bosacki, Cameron Dean Stewart, Taylor Tippins, Justin Arnold) discover an ancient dice game hidden behind a wall in an abandoned WWII factory, they unleash the powerful demon Knucklebones (Tom Zembrod) bent on taking them out one by one. The kids attempt to banish the demon with the help of a local homeless squatter (Jason Duffy Klemm), who, having had a previous run-in with the demon, further explains the rules of the dice game. As the kids attempt to finish the game it becomes clear Knucklebones has special plans for Neesa and, having met her briefly in Hell, is saving her for last.
