The search for a director continues for Universal’s live action adaptation of the Dark Horse comic R.I.P.D. (Rest in Peace Department). Who’s out? Who’s in? Who’s being considered? Read on.

According to the LA Times originally named director David Dobki has stepped down and will serve as producer, if he even works on the flick at all. They also add that McG nearly took the reins until Fox pushed forward with another project. The search goes on …

Comic Synopsis
Welcome to the Rest in Peace Department–the devoted, yet dead, officers of divine law enforcement “patrolling the deadbeat … reporting to one boss.” Yep–THAT boss. Nick Cruz died an untimely death at the height of his personal and professional life. Why did he join the R.I.P.D.? Well, not knowing the identity of his killer has left his soul a bit … restless.
