Saw Scribe Confirms: Saw 3D Final Entry

While we’re still very skeptical of this news as Hollywood lives by the mantra “if it makes money, make more of them”, apparently Saw 3D‘s writers are sticking to their guns about this being the last.

Regarding yesterday’s article about Betsy Russell saying that an eight script has already been planned, co-writer Patrick Melton got in touch with Bloody Disgusting to drop the following on them.

To clarify, Betsy has the story half correct,” he explains. “At one point we had an idea for two more movies. But after VI opened, we decided to combine everything into one last film, which is SAW 3D. This one is the last shebang!

Look for Saw 3D in theatres nationwide on October 29th.

As a deadly battle rages over Jigsaw’s brutal legacy, a group of Jigsaw survivors gathers to seek the support of self-help guru and fellow survivor Bobby Dagen, a man whose own dark secrets unleash a new wave of terror…

The first theatrical feature to be shot exclusively on the cutting-edge SI-3D digital camera system, Saw 3D brings the horrifying games of Jigsaw to life like never before.

I’m still pretty sure there will be a Part 8 at some point. Probably won’t be a direct continuation, but we all know that horror series never stay dead.
