Variety reports that TV Land has ordered a pilot episode for a series based on Heathers, which is being described as an anthology. The pilot will be directed by Sleeping With Other People filmmaker Leslye Headland and written by Jason Micallef. If picked up, each new season will feature a new group of Heathers.

The pilot will reimagine the three popular girls at the center of the 1988 film. The movie told the story of high-school student Veronica (Winona Ryder) and her relationship with three popular girls, all named Heather. No casting has yet been confirmed for the pilot.

Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi of Lakeshore Entertainment will exec produce.
