Valley of the Sasquatch Renamed Hunting Grounds and Caught by Uncork’d Entertainment

We’re always interested when word comes of a new Bigfoot film, especially one that includes Bill Oberst, Jr., in its cast; and up now is updated info on Valley of the Sasquatch (review), which has been scooped up for distribution by Uncork’d Entertainment and renamed Hunting Grounds.

Uncork’d Entertainment is set to distribute the award-winning creature feature HUNTING GROUNDS, sales agent High Octane Pictures has announced.

Winner of Best Sci-Fi Horror Film at the Toronto Independent Film Festival 2015, writer-director John Portanova’s acclaimed film sees a fractured family forced to go up against an angry clan of Bigfoot.

Festival audiences and horror critics have gone crazy for the story of a father and son who move to an old cabin in the woods after a devastating tragedy, only to unearth a tribe of Sasquatch.

Galen Christy, head of High Octane Pictures, says, “We are so excited to be working with Uncork’d Entertainment again. They are a fantastic, solid company; and we know that the film will be in good hands with them.”

Keith Leopard, president of Uncork’d Entertainment, adds, “Being from the Pacific Northwest, I’ve always been fascinated with the legend. John’s movie offers such a great take on the subject; I think audiences will love it!”

Written and directed by John Portanova and produced by horror label The October People, HUNTING GROUNDS stars Miles Joris-Peyrafitte, Jason Vail, David Saucedo, D’Angelo Midili, and Bill Oberst, Jr.

Uncork’d Entertainment will distribute film domestically with a release date to be announced shortly.

Actor Anton Troy Needs Your Help

On the evening of May 4, actor Anton Troy, who played the lead role in the Rusty Revolver: Origin TV pilot (review), was brutally assaulted whilst he was walking to his car after work. He received multiple stab wounds to the head, neck, and chest, and needed to spend the night in surgery. Anton in now on the slow road to recovery, although he is still in the ICU and needs to undergo more surgical procedures before he is given the all clear.

In addition to Rusty Revolver, Anton has also appeared in Chillerama, Filth to Ashes, Flesh to Dust, I Was a Teenage Werebear, Shooting the Warwicks, and the comedy Wingman Inc. He also serves as a leader of the Young Men’s Division of the SGI Buddhist Community, and he’s an all around great guy.

ASH VS EVIL DEAD S3 Hits Digital Today; Blu-ray/DVD This August

Ash vs Evil Dead Season 3 hit Digital today and to celebrate we have word on just when you can snag the third (and final) season on Blu-ray and DVD.

Season 3 hits Blu-ray August 21st for the Lionsgate Home Entertainment. In addition to all 10 Season 3 episodes, the disc will include audio commentary by executive producer Rob Tapert on every episode.

Blood is thicker than water in the battle of good vs Evil Dead!

Blair Joins Vicious Serial Killer Flick THE GREAT ILLUSION

Selma Blair has just joined the horror thriller, The Great Illusion. The film also stars Graham Greene and newcomer Oscar Cardenas, who co-wrote the film with daughter Maria Gabriela Cardenas. Maria will be making her directing debut with the film.

The plot Deadline reports follows a tortured FBI agent suffering from an irrational fear of darkness, as he investigates a mysterious former prostitute in order to catch a vicious serial killer.

The film also co-stars Glenn Morshower, Tokala Black Elk, Jon Lindstrom, Trisha Rae Stahl, Rebekah Kennedy, Jaime Gallagher, Bella Shaw, Rob Evors, Monte Markham, Beverly Todd, and Kenzie Dalton. Amy Williams is producing.

The Great Illusion is set to begin filming in Los Angeles next month.
