RoboCop Trilogy Heading to Blu-ray

RoboCop Trilogy Heading to Blu-rayThere are very few, very few, films in this world that I love more than Paul Verhoeven’s 1987 masterpiece, RoboCop. It’s a near-perfect mixture of hilarious satire, unabashedly brutal violence and with underlying story of humanity to give it some heart. Very few films are this good. Period. And that’s why I’m excited about this news.

HighDef Digest tells us that MGM will be releasing the RoboCop trilogy to Blu-ray, although they’ve yet to provide a date. SRP for the collection is $59.99.

My fingers are crossed for a remastered transfer for the original film – and one without excessive DNR, please! And it’d be super cool if they could be bothered to slap some supplementary material on RoboCop 2 as well. Providing these flicks look and sound excellent, I’ll double dip for Alex J. Murphy, even if it means I have to own RoboCop vs. Cyborg Ninjas.

RoboCop is the best action movie ever made and has one of the top 5 scores in movie history.

I will happily buy this IF the transfer is golden and the audio is cleaned up and beautifully loss less.

Once again, that’s 5 out of 5 for RoboCop (the original).

5 out of 5 also for Return of the Living Dead another one of my all time faves.
