New American Horror Story Season 6 Teaser Pitches a Fit; First Chatter on Seasons 7 and 8

Another day, another “American Horror Story” Season 6 promo plus some new artwork that ties in with the teaser released yesterday. But wait… there’s more! Exec producer Ryan Murphy recently chatted with THR and casually mentioned he already has a plan for Season 7 AND 8!

Here’s what Murphy told the site as far as why they haven’t yet revealed this year’s theme/subtitle: “We wanted to [create a] different experience for the fans this year. But that doesn’t mean we’ll do that for season seven or even season eight.”

As for tying in those future seasons (which FX has not yet committed to, but it seems like a no-brainer at this point) with what we’ve already seen and will see in Season 6, he added, “You’ll see it this season, and then you’ll really see it after this season. We lay a lot of pipe, and you’ll see it explode in seasons seven and eight. They haven’t officially been picked up yet by [FX head] John Landgraf — he and I always talk at the end of the year and decide how many we want to do. But John has always said, and I have always agreed, that this is a show that could be like ‘The Twilight Zone’ and run for multiple, multiple seasons and have its own inner mythology. So that’s how we’re approaching it. I’ll keep doing it for as long as we have the ideas and the momentum. I really love doing it… And the seasons are connected, for sure.”

“American Horror Story” kicks off its sixth chapter on FX on Wednesday, September 14, at 10 PM ET/PT.

The returning stars for Season 6 are expected to include Kathy Bates, Denis O’Hare, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Finn Wittrock, Cheyenne Jackson, Wes Bentley, Lady Gaga, Leslie Jordan, and Matt Bomer. Cuba Gooding, Jr., is rumored to be on-set as well.
