UPDATED! San Diego Comic-Con 2010: First Look at the Night of the Demons Remake Poster!

It seems like the Night of the Demons remake is taking its sweet ass time to come out, right? Well we’ve got an exciting look at the poster art for Adam Gierasch’s redux, and I’m digging it.

Night of the Demons stars Diora Baird, Shannon Elizabeth, Monica Keena, Bobbi Sue Luther, John F. Beach, Michael Copon, Tiffany Shepis, and Edward Furlong.

Angela Feld is throwing the Halloween party to end all Halloween parties at the infamous Broussard Mansion in New Orleans, where dark events transpired almost a century ago. But when the packed party gets busted by the police, Angela and her friends Maddie, Lily, Suzanne, Colin, Dex and Jason are the only ones left behind. Soon Colin and Angela make a grisly discovery in the basement and inexplicable events start to take place. With the mansion gates mysteriously locked, the seven find themselves trapped for the night…and soon they’re fighting ancient demons for their very souls.

Kevin S. Tenney’s original is a staple in my house around Halloween every single year. While far from a perfect flick, it captures the mood and essence of October 31st like few other genre films. I’m really hoping Gierasch can deliver on that while giving us something a bit different. I guess we’ll find out this fall!

That poster is a mess. Hopefully the film is not. I think it looks fun from what I’ve seen.

Let’s remember they aren’t trying to make a David Lean film here people, ok?

I always mix it up; partly it depends on the audience I’m picking for and partly on how long it’s been since I’ve seen a particular movie.

Here (in no particular order) are a few of my Halloween choices.

      The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original)
      The Omen
      Return of the Living Dead
      Basket Case
      The Descent
      Event Horizon
      Prince of Darkness
      The Blob (Chuck Russell remake)
      Night of the Living Dead
      Cabin Fever

Usually if your crowd isn’t hard core horror fans you want something with a quick pace and a lot of visual ‘wow’.

If I was with a group of hardcore horror fans I’d probably opt for some less obvious choices.

Edward Furlong? That’s the only name I recognized and he seems a bit old for this movie.

Looks like another DTV crapfest judging from that poster; hopefully it will be better than the poster makes it look.
