Live in Tennessee or Kentucky? See JAWS on the Water this Weekend!

Watching JAWS is always an adventure for those obsessed with Spielberg’s epic tale, and this coming weekend there is a unique opportunity for those fans in the Tennessee/Kentucky area to experience it in a way that most have had dreams (or nightmares) about.

Dale Hollow Lake is located between the Tennessee and Kentucky border, and this coming weekend (Friday the 26th and Saturday the 27th of August) it will be the home of “JAWS on the Water“–a special screening event for those brave enough to sit… I mean, float… through it, and in 70 feet of water no less!

Mitchell Creek Marina offers drive-in style film screenings throughout the summer, and this year they’ve decided to do something unique. Inspired by the Alamo Drafthouse’s JAWS screenings, Mitchell Creek Marina is presenting a new series–confined to a designated area of Dale Hollow Lake–with the capacity to accommodate one thousand people on inner tubes for films that will be projected from a newly constructed dock, display screen, and sound system. Organizers will be offering t-shirts with custom designs made specifically for the event as well as prizes from fright-rags.com, goodies like plush sharks, and JAWS decals from bathroomdecal.com. They’ve even purchased a Joseph Reginella bed for attendees to take photos with. Attendees will receive a t-shirt after the film and… drum roll!… have the opportunity to meet Molly Mae Scheider, daughter of Martin Brody himself, Roy Scheider! (Note: If taking photos with Molly Mae, please make sure to smile, you son of a…)
