If you can’t wait for the January ’11 release of Dead Space 2, have no fear! EA announced in the interim you’ll be able to get your hands all over Dead Space Ignition, appearing on Xbox Live Arcade this fall.
Steve Papoutsis, Exec Producer for the Dead Space franchise, said that “Dead Space Ignition is the first of many exciting game extensions we have planned for the launch of Dead Space 2; the interactive comic-style game will give Dead Space fans a unique perspective on the events leading up to Dead Space 2 and will also introduce the storyline to a brand-new audience of gamers.”
Dead Space Ignition promises to be fun-filled and action-packed and includes three mini games (Hardware Crack, Trace Route and System Override) with a “Choose Your Own Adventure” style narrative with four different endings that can allow players to survive the Necromorph outbreak in a number of ways. As each ending is completed, players will receive unlockables that include an exclusive suit that can be used by Issac Clarke himself in DS2 next January 25, 2011.
Ignition is written by award-winning author of the 2008, six-book Dead Space comic series, Antony Johnston (Daredevil, Wasteland), who once again uses his horror story prowess to introduce new characters and frightening plot twists to make this prequel the one to buy!
