The full schedule for Fright Night Film Fest, which runs July 30th-August 1st in Louisville, Kentucky, isn’t quite finalized yet, but we did hear from producer/director Jeff Chitty that the trailer for his current project, The Taking of Savannah, will be having its world premiere there.

Synopsis:
Five thugs and an unknowing girlfriend make a BIG mistake when they kidnap and hold young Hollywood “celebutante” Savannah Sondheim (heiress to the Sondheim tissue fortune) for a weekend to collect a ransom. When Savannah escapes, it becomes a brutal fight for survival where friends turn against one another and fight for their lives.

The film is scheduled to wrap principal photography on July 11th, and its cast list is as follows: SAVANNAH – Krystal Heib (Fetch), ASHLEY – Denise Carroll (Fetch), SCOTT – Antoine Williams, SPENCER – Mike Ducey, FINN – Jeremy Everts, RIFF – Cameron Haines, and TORG – John D. Barnes. Dustin Adair penned the script from which Chitty is directing, the DP is Robert P. Campbell, and the film’s makeup and FX are being handled by Colleen May (Fetch, Nailbiter).

For more befriend Jeff Chitty on Facebook, follow the progress of the shoot via @dgrindhouse_ent on Twitter, and visit the official Digital Grindhouse Entertainment site.

In addition, the short film Numb, directed by John D. Barnes and executive produced by Chitty, will have its festival debut at Fright Night. Numb is part of a compilation of short films called The OV Series, which began in 2007. All of the films deal with hidden emotions that manifest in violent ways. Each represents a different emotion, and there will be three volumes in which the emotions act as central characters, continuing through the series instead of actual characters. The films are surreal, emotionally jarring, and disturbing and range anywhere from 1 minute to 15. Vol. 1 is nearly complete, and the trailer for The OV Series will also debut at Fright Night as part of its 2010 trailer contest.

More info on John and his films can be found soon at dreiproductions.com.
