Maverick Red Digs on Digger

A while back we first told you guys about a film called Slaughter, the first movie to be produced as a result of the Slamdance horror screenplay competition (read about it here). Understanding that one is never enough, Maverick Films and Angel Baby Entertainment have announced the formation of Maverick Red, the production house behind Slaughter, as well as a new horror film called Digger.
Digger is the creepy tale of Joshua Bauer, a gravedigger from New England whose evil father raised him to only dig graves with his hands. Ouch. Years later, Joshua finally snaps and goes on a horrific killing spree. Hey, at least he knows a good way to get rid of the bodies!
While production on Slaughter is scheduled to start up on June 26th in New Mexico, no word is forthcoming yet about when we can expect Digger to start rolling. The film will be under the direction of Angel Baby partner and The Deli helmer John Gallagher, working from a script by Stephen Lancellotti. Expect more news on both projects very soon!
