Exclusive Early Word on Frozen DVD and Blu-Ray Specs

As reported earlier this week, Adam Green’s survival horror flick Frozen (review here) is hitting the home video market via Anchor Bay on September 28th, and this morning we learned what special features we can expect on the DVD and Blu-ray discs. It’s an avalanche!

Synopsis
A typical day on the slopes turns into a chilling nightmare for three snowboarders (Kevin Zegers, Shawn Ashmore, and Emma Bell) when they get stranded on the chairlift before their last run. As the ski patrol switches off the night lights, they realize with growing panic that they’ve been left behind dangling high off the ground with no way down.

With the resort closed until the following weekend and frostbite and hypothermia already setting in, the trio is forced to take desperate measures to escape off the mountain before they freeze to death. Once they make their move, they discover with horror that they have much more to fear than just the frigid cold. As they combat unexpected obstacles, they start to question if their will to survive is strong enough to overcome the worst ways to die.

Both the DVD and Blu-ray will contain the following:

  • Audio commentary with writer/director Adam Green and actors Shawn Ashmore, Kevin Zegers, and Emma Bell
  • “Catching Frostbite: The Origins of Frozen” featurette
  • “Three Below Zero” featurette
  • “Shooting Through It” featurette
  • “Beating the Mountain: Surviving Frozen” featurette
  • Deleted scenes
  • Theatrical trailer

In addition, as a Blu-ray exclusive there’s an additional audio commentary with writer/director Adam Green, cinematographer Will Barratt, and editor Ed Marx.

I’ve never seen a movie that barely anyone saw take so long to come out on DVD. You’d swear it’s a Criterion edition or something. I hope it’s good.
