Sometimes we all get so caught up in bitching about CGI that we forget just how much of an incredible artform it truly is. Digital effects artists deserve as much respect as the makeup masters we all love and cherish, and the reality is that countless movies we love simply would not be possible without CGI.
This short video breaks down the visual effects seen in Godzilla Resurgence, and we hope it gives you a greater appreciation for the artisans who brought the latest incarnation of the so-called King of the Monsters to life. This movie, needless to say, looks totally freakin’ awesome!
Directed by Attack on Titan‘s Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi and written by Hideaki Anno, the film stars Hiroki Hasegawa, Yutaka Takenouchi, Satomi Ishihara, Rando Yaguchi, and Ren Osugi. The flick runs 118 minutes.
