Some of my favorite horror movies feature hot young people roaming into places they have no business going – like The Ruins, Friday the 13th, and Wrong Turn 2 to name just a few. Well, horror fiends, there’s a new group of victims lining up in Madison County, an upcoming indie horror flick that is gearing up for production this September in Arkansas.
Madison County stars Ace Marrero, Colley Bailey, Adrienne Harrell, Matt Mercer, and Joanna Sotomura. Nick Principe, best known to fans as the killer ChromeSkull in Laid to Rest, will be trading in his shiny mask for something a little more “backwoods friendly” as he has been cast as the flick’s killer, Damien.
The project was written and will be directed by Eric England and will feature killer effects from Robert Hall and his shop Almost Human EFX (where, in the interest of full disclosure, I also work along with my duties here at DC and elsewhere), who are currently working on Quarantine 2 in Georgia.
A group of college kids travel to a small mountain town called Madison County to interview the author of a tell-all book about several grisly murders that happened there. But when the kids get to Madison County, the author is nowhere to be found and the locals act like they haven’t seen him in years. They also say that the killer never existed and the murders never happened. However, when the kids start digging around to get their own answers, they find out that the stories may be more real than the townspeople are letting on.
Those involved with the project shot a promotional teaser for Madison County that will debut online soon, but in the meantime, we’ve got some exclusive stills and the poster for you to feast your gore-loving eyes upon.
