Some More Light Shed on Scream 4 Woes

Round and round we go on the rumor wheel. After a really scary report this morning citing all kinds of trouble on the production of Scream 4, a bit more light has been shed on the whole Ehren Kruger replacing Kevin Williamson as writer aspect of things.

Shock Till You Drop nailed down a few more details from their sources:

“Yes, Ehren Kruger has been brought in to do a bit of polishing. But no, Williamson isn’t “out” by any means. As you know, he’s also working hard on the second season of Vampire Diaries for the CW. While he’s away fulfilling his commitments on that show, the production called upon Kruger to assist on the script. Some chatter about Lauren Graham’s departure has made it sound like she wasn’t thrilled with the sequel, however, it was another case of production scheduling and she’s off to work on Parenthood.”

There you have it, kids. Like it or not.

Look for Scream 4 in theatres on April 15th, 2011.

  1. Eh, I’m still feeling pretty fuckin’ cynical. Ehren Kruger shouldn’t even be allowed to polish a script. Polish shoes maybe, but not a script.

  2. “and she’s off to work on Parenthood.”

That doesn’t sound fishy at all. I mean, it’s not like they simply schedule the shooting of a season of a TV series all willy nilly.

She signed on, knowing the schedule of the movie and simply forgot that she had another season of her show to work on?

    Yup. Total sense.
