Kevin Smith Remakes Jaws with Moose Jaws

It was all in the title, wasn’t it? During a Yoga Hosers (review) event last night at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, New Jersey, Kevin Smith took to the stage and talked about the next film in his Canadian monster trilogy, Moose Jaws. Thankfully Paul Nomad was there, and he sent in the following tidbits of info!
According to Smith, Moose Jaws is basically Jaws with a moose instead of a shark… a beat for beat Jaws remake at that. The movie is said to go on like that until the third act, when Smith turns it into something else… Think Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters mixed with Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan with an added dash of Return of the Jedi for good measure.
In the film Smith split the part of Quint (played in Jaws by Robert Shaw) into two parts… played by Silent Bob and Jay, so yes, Smith’s True North Trilogy crashes into the View Askewniverse.

Silent Bob is the half of Quint who gets eaten, but he comes back as a ghost powered by The Force. Smith added that he can see a future where Jay is standing outside a store seemingly talking to himself.
