DVD and Blu-ray Releases: August 2, 2016

default-featured-image

We actually have a fairly decent amount of releases for the beginning of a month, folks. This is most likely attributable to the Halloween season being not too far in the distance. Pretty soon, classic movies will be getting re-released as “Collector’s Editions” or as part of a multitude of collections that will be flooding your local shelves in the coming months.

Speaking of classic movies getting re-released, the 1978 version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers is coming to Blu-ray – and guess what? It’s a collector’s edition but unfortunately does not come with an authentic replica of Donald Sutherland’s mustache.

Our other classic release this week is 1971’s The Night Visitor. This too is getting the hi-def treatment but is just a regular old Blu-ray.

As for discrepancies, we’ve got two to talk about. Both Blackburn and Terrordactyl originally had August 2nd as their release date. Now they currently show as unavailable. Hopefully if you’re looking for either, you are successful.

Lastly, the rest of our release list consists of more recent movies. Probably the  standout of these would be this year’s Observance. If you haven’t seen it yet, definitely try to check it out.

Pleasant viewing.
