Lukas Haas Dons His Red Riding Hood

Another name has joined the cast of Catherine Hardwicke’s Red Riding Hood (formerly The Girl with the Red Riding Hood), and we’ve got all the details for you straight out of Grandma’s bed!
According to Variety Lukas Haas has been tapped to join the cast of Warner Bros.’ Red Riding Hood to play the village priest. He’ll be joining a blockbuster line-up that includes the previously announced Amanda Seyfried, Shiloh Fernandez, Max Irons, Michael Hogan, Julie Christie, and Gary Oldman.
Red Riding Hood, written by David Johnson (Orphan), is a retelling of the old Red Riding Hood bedtime story that we can only hope comes sans any sparkling entities and/or underwearwolves. Oh, who are we kidding? We know that they will be there. Either way, we’ll be watching and hoping for the best.
The original fairy tales by The Brothers Grimm were deliciously dark so keep your fingers crossed that at least some of that content makes it in.
Look for Red Riding Hood in theatres April 22nd, 2011.
