We learned a while back that Netflix will be home to a new season of Charlie Brooker’s “Black Mirror,” which taps into our collective unease with the modern world by exploring themes of contemporary techno-paranoia, and now we know when it will be debuting.

Per Deadline, the next installment of the anthology series will premiere globally on October 21st at 12:01 AM PT. The series is created and written by Charlie Brooker and executive produced by Brooker and Annabel Jones. Technically the show’s third season, it will be comprised of six episodes:

  • “San Junipero,” featuring Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Mackenzie Davis in an episode directed by Owen Harris
  • “Shut Up and Dance” with Jerome Flynn and Alex Lawther in an episode directed by James Watkins
  • “Nosedive” featuring Bryce Dallas Howard, Alice Eve, and James Norton in an episode directed by Joe Wright
  • “Men Against Fire” starring Michael Kelly, Malachi Kirby, and Madeline Brewer in an episode directed by Jakob Verbruggen
  • “Hated in the Nation” featuring Kelly MacDonald in an episode directed by James Hawes
  • “Playtest” with Wyatt Russell and Hannah John-Kamen in an episode directed by Dan Trachtenberg

In addition, Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos shot down rumors that “Stranger Things,” a show that horror fans are raving about like nobody’s business, has already received a second season order, saying, “We always want to take some time to be thoughtful about the [renewal] process.”

Given that just about every other Netflix series has been renewed, we wouldn’t worry about “Stranger Things” too much, but still, the sooner we know Season 2 is officially on the way, the better!
