When you know a popular genre TV series is ending, you expect the final season to introduce a powerhouse big bad to send it off with a bang; and it looks like “The Vampire Diaries” will be giving us just that as Season 8 intends to introduce “Evil Herself”!

The eighth and final 16-episode season of “The Vampire Diaries” will premiere Friday, October 21 (8:00-9:00pm ET/PT), with the finale date to be announced later. The series is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Outerbanks Entertainment, Alloy Entertainment, Warner Bros. Television, and CBS Television Studios. It stars Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Kat Graham, Candice King, Zach Roerig, Matt Davis, and Michael Malarkey.
