Banglar King Kong Ready to Rampage

For many years now foreign territories have cooked up their very own versions of American blockbusters. There were Turkish Exorcists, Bollywood versions of Jaws, and even Italian Spider-Men (we know that was just a YouTube skit, but wow did it rock). Steady yourselves now, dear readers. Are you ready for the horrific adventures of Banglar King Kong?

I know, what the hell is that, right? What we have here, kids, is a remake of King Kong that was released this past May in Bangladesh. According to Undead Backbrain the film, which was directed by Iftekar Jahan and produced by Sharmin Osman for the government-sponsored FDC (the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation), appeared with very little fanfare in its home country.

Gee, we wonder why. Dig on a photo of the one-sheet and the trailer below, and for a bit more silliness hit up the above linkage.

Judging my that actress’ body, Bangladesh no longer has a food shortage.

One of the more ridiculous things I’ve seen in a while lol. There is no way in hell I could watch an entire movie like that. Good for a laugh though.

  • Ecto-1

Fun to watch as a trailer but I’m not sure I could make it through a whole feature. I’d still give it a go though, haha

It’s reasons like this why I get angry with people who claim that Uwe Boll is the worst director that ever lived.

You think that they would have at least found an attractive woman for the lead role.

Something in my cerebral cortex broke as I watched this.

The musical numbers were by far the scariest aspect of the trailer, when they showed the clips where the ship was caught in the storm at sea the S.S. Minnow came to mind and I’m reasonably certain that the crocodile let fly with a mouth fart when it opened it’s jaws. This actually ventures fairly deep into Ed Wood territory. Wow.

Words fail me. They actually lifted scenes from the 70’s Kong remake with the helicopters attacking.
