#SDCC16: We Go Goggles-On with Teen Wolf’s Interactive VR Experience

default-featured-image

In the lead up to this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, one hands-on (or in this case, goggles-on) display we knew we wanted to make time for was “Teen Wolf’s” all-new interactive VR experience on the floor of the Convention Center. So on Preview Night (July 20th), MTV’s Booth #3729 was one of our first stops to check out this “ultimate fan experience.”

Was it worth it?  Absolutely!  The interactivity is like nothing we’ve seen before; it uses gaze- and motion-activated technology, making it a lot less passive than most VR demonstrations, so that the outcome depends on your actions. We ventured into the tunnels below Beacon Hills as well as the library and spent some time with Lydia, Scott, Malia, Liam, and Mason.  Plus we got a taste of the new Season 6 villains: the Ghost Riders, aka the “Wild Hunt,” who can take your memories and leave you wondering what’s real and what’s not.  Plus, Lydia lets out a Banshee scream that… well, we’ll just let you guys find out for yourselves.

It was a fun, spooky few minutes immersed in the world of “Teen Wolf” that gave us a nice respite from the hubbub of the SDCC.  If you have a chance, definitely swing by the booth and give it a whirl!

Below are a few photos from our time there.  Big thanks to Jason Koffeman of Moth + Flame, who guided us through the experience.
