Corey Feldman Talks Lost Boys 3: The Thirst

Corey Feldman Talks Lost Boys 3: The ThirstEven Corey Feldman admits it … Lost Boys 2: The Tribe sucked, but not in the way that everyone was hoping for. With the third one on the way Feldman spoke candidly about the sequel and why this time he thinks they have it right!

In an interview with Movie Mikes Feldman dropped the following on fans:

“The one thing I didn’t like about the second film was that I was kind of in the trenches by myself,” Feldman tells the site. “Edgar kept popping in every once in a while, and it felt odd to me. It felt like one of those movies where they couldn’t get it right. So the only way I was going to return for part 3 … if you remember I had it in my contract that Corey (Haim) had to be in the sequel as well, and Warner Brothers kept their word; they shot some sequences with Corey.”

“But because of the problems we had with Corey at the time, it wasn’t usable,” Feldman continues. “It wasn’t their fault. It was just what it was. Corey wasn’t able, at that point in his life, to deliver what we needed. So those parts were cut from the film and put in with the deleted scenes. And those scenes were done as pickups. When you see Corey and Jamison (Newlander, who was cast as Alan Frog) their shots were pick ups, they weren’t in the same scene with me. And I felt isolated. It was like I was carrying this torch. But this time around, Jamison IS in the film and it IS the return of the Frog brothers. And even though we didn’t get to have Corey in this film, a reference is made to his character…where he is and what’s going on with him…and it really feels like a continuation of the first film as opposed to a completely separate chapter.”

We’re hoping for the best, buddy, and have to admit the new trailer below actually looks pretty good. We shall see.

Look for the Dario Piana directed sequel co-starring Jamison Newlander, Sean Cameron Michael, Seb Catang, and Tanit Phoenix possibly as early as this fall.

When veteran vampire hunter Edgar Frog finds himself destitute and almost friendless, he thinks his life has hit bottom – but wealthy vampire-romance novelist Gwen Lieber offers him a small fortune to go on the vampire hunt of a lifetime and rescue her son Peter from the Alpha Vampire DJ X. With the help of his friends Zoe, Lars, and Blake, Edgar heads into a bloody battle to exterminate evil.

I have to agree with Claire, as bad as Tribe was I still enjoyed watching it because I’m just that big of a Lost Boys fan, this one doeslook much better though

The problem with making sequels to such GREAT movie such as “The Crow” and “The Lost Boys” is that people will always compare them to the original (as they should) and no sequel will ever equal the experience of the original. Oh, not to mention most sequels are brainless writing with a little homage paid to the original.

FireRam says: “This is gonna suck” (not in a good way).

Abashed the Devil stood and felt how awful goodness is.

Why does every vampire or Wererwolf have to walk on walls now? I’m guessing someone cut a passable trailer of another piss poor movie.

I’ll never forget how stoked I was for ’13 Ghosts’ after the amazing trailer; then came the far from amazing movie. Sighs.

I still say “The Lost Girls” had potential to be an incredible sequel. Casting modern young actresses as these hot vampires with a whole new story, man, that would have been so much fun.
“We are bad guys. That means we’ve got more to do other than bullying companies. It’s fun to lead a bad man’s life.”

I mis-read your comment first time. I thought you said vaginas… and I’m like, WTF is Terminal going on about – then I re-read it, and all is well in the universe again! 🙂

This looks like the film they should’ve made instead of the Tribe.

Looks pretty fun. I’m looking forward to it, truth be told.

  • Katsumi

The Tribe kind of threw me off the Lost Boys kick, but this one looks really good I for sure agree this is what they should have made instead of instead of the Tribe….

But I cant help but feel maybe their just going to keep making these movies and well do we honestly really need a 3rd one of these movies?

    • Masked Slasher

I’m not opposed to there being more, honestly.

The idea of the further adventures of Edgar and Alan Frog is much more interesting than a big screen remake of the original – that’s for sure.

It really looks like Warner has learned from the debacle of part 2, and if they have I’ll actually give The Thirst a purchase.

I’m okay with them making more as long as they don’t give more BS like The Tribe again..

I’m just wondering how many more of them can the actually put Cory in before they have to change it up and get new people to play the Frog Bro’s?

I think Feldman could squeeze out a few more if they really wanted. Definitely not necessary, but there could be a few fun Frog Bros. adventures down the pike if the producers really felt inclined.
