Any cinephile out there knows the difference between a green and a red band trailer, but for the sake of clarity — green band trailers feature nothing objectionable, and red band trailers give us a taste of the good stuff that we want like gore and maybe a glimpse or two at, shall we say, some less than family-friendly situations. But what if we went beyond red band?
That’s exactly what director Tim Sullivan has done with this special sneak peek at his latest film, 2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams, along with the following message:
“Last week First Look Studios premiered their GREEN BAND and RED BAND trailers for 2001 MANIACS: FIELD OF SCREAMS.
What First Look didn’t show you is this super exclusive “not safe for work” BEYOND RED BAND TRAILER that I cut with my editors Adam Robitel and Dan Flesher for the Big Bear Horror Film Festival back in October.
Yup, as they say, this is the “trailer the studio didn’t want you to see.” It’s got all the GORE, all the NUDITY, all the POLITICALLY INCORRECT HUMOR that this film is getting both applauded and crucified for! Even though it’s full of spoilers – trust me – this flick is such a fully loaded goregasm, we still are only shooting half a load with this “extended” preview.
So buckle up and get ready — it’s MANIACS time!
Shock and Roll,
Oh, Tim you beautiful madman. How we love you!
The flick stars Bill Moseley, Lin Shaye, Nivek Ogre, Courtney Peldon, Ashley Peldon, Adam Robitel, Ahmed Best, Trevor Wright, Andrea Leon, Ryan Fleming, Dylan Edrington, Christa Campbell, Amy Baniecki, and Tony Todd. Look for the DVD and the Blu-ray on July 20th from First Look Studios. The film’s soundtrack, a perfect companion, will be available the very same day.
When this year’s round of unsuspecting Northerners fail to show up for their annual Guts ‘N Glory Jamboree, the residents of Pleasant Valley take their cannibalistic carnival on the road and head to Iowa, where they encounter spoiled heiresses Rome and Tina Sheraton and the cast and crew of their “Road Rascals” reality show. Performing “The Bloodiest Show on Earth”, our Southern Maniacs prove more than ratings killers in what John Landis has called “one of the rare sequels that surpasses the original”.
This trailer is in no way official and is to be thought of as a ‘fan video’ unsanctioned by First Look Studios.
Dig on the NOT SAFE FOR WORK goodies below. And we ain’t shittin’ you either. It’s really NOT SAFE FOR WORK. You’ve been warned. Don’t blame us if you get shit-canned. Just give your now ex-boss the finger and tell him to get a sense of humor!
