Never mind the bloated version of Robin Hood in theatres now; what you’re really looking for is some quality time with a more murderous kind of merry men, right? If so, you’ll be happy to hear that some more casting news and concept art have come in for John Regan’s Sherwood Horror. Dig it!

From the Press Release
Two more join Sherwood Horror, a contemporary set reimagining of the Robin Hood legend with bite. Ex-con Rob Locksley (DJ Perry of Dean Teaster’s Ghost Town, 8th Plague, Blood Ties, and upcoming thriller Renovation) returns home after a six-year absence to find his town under the rule of vampires. He must join forces with his old roughneck hunting buddies to wage war against the evil Sheriff and his horde of blood-sucking minions.

Paul Proios (GPS, Dean Teaster’s Ghost Town) is in talks to take on the role of Guy Gisborne, Nottingham’s wicked deputy and right-hand vampire. Austin Two Feathers has also come aboard to play a vampire biker. Proios and Two Feathers join a cast that includes Perry, Bill McKinney, Terry Jernigan, Mike Powers, and Taymour Ghazi.

The state of Virginia has made a generous financial offer to land Sherwood Horror so it’s looking likely that the production will lens there next spring. But before Sherwood can move into production, DJ Perry has another modern-day retelling of a classic story that will shoot this year. He will take on the role of Jesus of Nazareth in the Lionsgate release In Our Time.

Perry will then move from playing savior to vampire slayer.

Vincent Guastini will handle the creature effects for Sherwood Horror. The film will be produced by DJ Perry under his Collective Development Inc. banner. John Regan will direct from his own screenplay.

Below is a conceptual design of Rob Locksley updated for modern times by artist Matt Bahr, who describes the look of his outfit as “Junkyard wars with hillbilly craftsmanship.”
