Huge Patrol Men Update: New Trailer, Posters, and Photos!

One film we’ve been following the progress of for a while now is the “zero budget” indie film Patrol Men, and today we’ve got a look at its new trailer and posters that were used at Cannes along with two new stills and an update from David Campion (co-director with Ben Simpson).

First things first; here’s what Campion told us as to the current status of Patrol Men: “Since we last spoke, Patrol Men has a new editor, composer, and graphics team to help ready it for release.

It’s been 15 months since we finished filming and almost two years since we started the script…but, we’re making progress. It’s a really strange situation…we were all very young, just out of uni, making a film with a handful of friends, just for the love of it. Fast forward 12 months later, and we’re prepping the film to sell.

You’ll notice a big change in style for the new posters and trailer. The trailer especially is far more intense than the one we originally put out. Patrol Men is still low-fi, quirky, and odd; but the suspense and horror have definitely been expanded. Additionally, the sound is being tweaked, mixed, and in some places re-recorded. Our composer, John Koutselinis, will be scoring this month.

Synopsis:
When Jess, a teenager with a taste for rebellion, moves to a remote island, he sparks up a friendship with Alex. Alex is naive, innocent, but smart. She warns Jess of the island’s strict rules, including the ‘Curfew’, which prevents residents from leaving their houses after dark. The curfew is enforced by the PATROL MEN, a gang of militant types hidden behind gas masks. However, Jess decides to call the island’s bluff. Jess stays out after dark. Jess is never seen again. Distraught and feeling more alone than ever, Alex investigates Jess’ disappearance. What follows is an adventure that plunges the naive Alex from the comforts of everyday life into the darkness of a corrupt island. Why are we made to fear the dark? And … Who are the PATROL MEN?

So, what’s next for the Patrol Men team? They’ll be submitting the film to festivals, and as soon as they get word back, we’ll be sure to pass it along. In the meantime dig on the stills courtesy of photographer Daniel Pitts, the new trailer, and two variations of the Cannes poster below.
