Trailer Debut: Lost Boys 3: The Thirst

The Lost Boys is a huge favorite amongst the horror fanbase. Lost Boys 2? Not so much. Okay, so it sucked. Big time. With a third one coming at us soon, all we can do is hope for the best, and the trailer for it has just debuted. Let us know what you think below.

Star Corey Feldman has promised fans a much better next entry, and we have to admit some of the new stills are intriguing. Look for the Dario Piana directed sequel co-starring Jamison Newlander, Sean Cameron Michael, Seb Catang, and Tanit Phoenix possibly as early as this fall.

Synopsis
When veteran vampire hunter Edgar Frog finds himself destitute and almost friendless, he thinks his life has hit bottom – but wealthy vampire-romance novelist Gwen Lieber offers him a small fortune to go on the vampire hunt of a lifetime and rescue her son Peter from the Alpha Vampire DJ X. With the help of his friends Zoe, Lars, and Blake, Edgar heads into a bloody battle to exterminate evil.

I asked the website question because i wanted to check it out (you know Foy has his own too) and as for the question marks its my way of saying i’m a bit confused

    • Terminal

My mistake James. Yes, it’s in my profile. The link is there. If it’s not just type in Cinema Crazed, and you’ll get it. I hope you like it.

But hey, the attacks are going to keep coming, so I’m just going to laugh it off and keep posting here. I have to get my horror news somehow.

I expect more lurkers to come along and shoot insults my way. Some will be skilled (DeathProof) and some will just not even be trying (click67), so I’m excited to see what new face turns up!

  • James Coker

?????? okay????? anyway Didn’t sometime ago you said you have your own movie review website terminal???

    • Terminal

Sure, I do, but I don’t see how that has any relevance to the attacks. My site is great, but it’s not like I’m Harry Knowles running AICN or anything. Again I have my theories here and there, but I’m just settling on the notion that lurkers are just trying to shut me up. God forbid people should be vocal about something on a website.

P.S. Just curious, but what of the question marks? I’m confused to the tone.

  • James Coker

Hell Even i have noticed this quite a number of times terminal….some random joe who probrably NEVER comments on the DC web pages just comes out of nowhere on starts attacking you “becuase you talk shit” I seriously don’t get it, about 3/4 of the other DC fans talk just as much Shit on upcoming horror flicks but somehow you are always the one who is attacked for it…it boggles my mind

    • Terminal

James I have a number of interesting theories on this that I’ve been mulling over, but I’m subscribing to Occam’s Razor. Lurkers just read my stuff, hate my over opinionated ass, and sign up to tell me off. That’s that.

Whaddya gonna do? It’s the internet. Courage by virtue of distance.

Hmmm…. not sure How I feel about this. I have not yet seen the second film, and not sure I need to, to see this one. I try not to be too negative before seeing a film, hoping for the best, but more often than not lately I have been let down. Being a graduating film student, and one that does wish to make a horror film or two, I try to think positive, because I know there is a lot going on behind the scenes of the film, and how that can affect it’s production even with the best intentions. But I also know that ego and know-it-alls can cloud up the film too, as seems to be the case of late. And it’s this thinking that has given us the abysmal remakes and cash ins of many of the classics that are held dear by us fans.

Now having said that, the trailer does look light years better than the previous movies’ trailer and this could be a sign, but again not seeing the second, it could also just mean a better ad agent cut this. And here in lies another problem, Trailers, teasers, adverts and commercials are meant to draw the attention, and plant the seed of interest in the viewer. And while I am somewhat interested, for nostalgic reasons, it does not look, so far, like anything I have not seen before. Someone has mentioned Blade before me, also I think Equilibrium and The Returner for the action sequences, and Buffy and Jack Brooks for the monster hunting quotient. Now trailers can be telling, they can also be a complete failure of marketing, such as Fight Club. The trailer seems to be about men just fighting each other, and little else. Now this does take up a sizable part of the film, this is not the main point of the film. In hindsight I suppose to reveal anything else compromises the “realization” moment (to avoid spoilers), so I guess kudos in that respect, but this hindered the audience to watch the film to people looking for Brad Pitt and Norton in fisticuffs with other brawny men.

Of course trailer’s over done can also steal all the good moments, and thus people leave with the “all the good moments were in the trailer” sensation, and become unfulfilled. I am hoping neither point is the case here, and I can find some good entertainment with this when it comes out. Sorry about the diatribe. And for the record, so it doesn’t seem like my nose is in the air with movies, I find Hell comes to Frogtown entertaining, and others like Highway to Hell and Time Rider. I usually like my horror in the John Carpenter and Cronenberg fashion, or the classic Uni Monsters, but every now and again there is the rare treat that makes my bones blush (the aforementioned Jack Brooks). Here’s hoping for that rare treat, or something fun at least.

You know what “Terminal ” All you do is bitch all day long about every movie posted here. Why don;t you STFU and make a movie yourself since your gods gift to movie making!!! Seriously, make a movie , so I can laugh my ass off, you tosser!

    • Terminal

click67 if you’re going to tell me off, you can at least come up with something good and not sound like a lame ass IMDB user bitching about people criticizing the latest movie starring Sandra Bullock and Tracey Morgan.

I honestly can’t take you seriously with sentences like:
“make a movie yourself since your gods gift to movie making!!!”

“Seriously, make a movie , so I can laugh my ass off, you tosser!”

Thanks for playing, get back to me when you have a good argument. Thanks!

What I didn’t understand, kind of had me think WTF for a second,is this individual posted this after there were like 10 other (including myself) deadites who had something negative to say about this film. I mean come on, the majority of the comments here are anti-“The Thirst”. BUT, for some,God knows why, reason this individual decided to single YOU and only you out on this page. It’s not like everyone else loved it and you are going off on a tangent/rant annoying people. All you did was agree with other posts, and state a short opinion of your own. This was stupid to come on a thread where the general consensus is against this movie and yell like the last child picked for kickball at you personally.I think maybe he/she has a crush on you and wants attention. Hehe, lol.

        • Terminal

FireRam I find it peculiar too, especially since YOU had the strongest argument against this movie and all I did was go “You’re right FireRam,” and “Well said FireRam” like some yes man in a corporation or something.

And people wonder why I have a massive ego when I keep getting singled out by people who seem offended mostly by my thoughts. Am I that special? Am I that brilliant?

Nah, I’m just fucking around. I’m just a regular schmuck. I think someone is signing on with assorted nicknames to attack me.

It’s cool, I’m having a lot of fun with it. It’s just the internet!

Vanvance1 and FireRam you two are absolutely Right

  • doubleh55

As a very cynical guy, I’m kinda looking forward to this.

  • vorodex999

I will admit it does look ten times better than The Tribe. I’ll give it whirl when it hits on dvd.

  • PelusaMG

When the lighting looks like they’re shooting a day-time soap, I assume the script and story are along the same lines. I’m predicting a DC review of 1 1/2 knives for this when it is released!

Please consider the environment before printing this message…

Screw this. I had to go to youtube to clear my head of this nonsense!! LOL……….this is cool have a watch.

Word!! What’s with the ghey-ass Hot Topic version of that song?

The original is the only one that matters.

      • VilaWolf

That would be the Aiden “cover” left over from the abortion that was Tribe.

G Tom Mac all the way!

  • LSD Zombie

Yeaaah, I’m gonna pass on this Blade/Lost Boys hybrid.

  • FireRam

I won’t even bother to see this after “The Tribe”. Seriously though, this is how I feel. It’s as if there was a script for a movie out there, about vampire hunters and this synopsis. They figured WAIT, let’s make the hunters the Frog brothers,I’m sure Feldman will be in he doesn’t seem to be doing much lately (lol), and we’ll tack on The Lost Boys name so someone goes to see this shit. There will be no story (other than the Frog brothers reuniting),no character development,no sub-plot like Star and Michael,no character development,no character to care about.
Bottom line: Fuck this I’ll pass.
You know what the sequels remind me of? The Crow sequels. They’ll keep coming out, using the name of an original movie we LOVE(The Crow/The Lost Boys),and they’ll keep getting worse and worse. I might be wrong,I admit it’s early to tell, but I just have that/this feeling about it.

    • Vanvance1

Those are some very good points.

I think the other thing to remember is using the name of one movie to sell a different movie is a deceitful practice.

It’s not the same director, writer, dp or editor. It’s not being made in the same decade (and yes, Lost Boys was very reflective of it’s time. Lost Boys is the NAME, not the content. One actor and a name in common doesn’t equal successful movie alchemy.

In other words, this is 90% likely a cheap soulless cash in on fan nostalgia.

I am no longer supporting this type of movie or any remakes. Fuck the assholes responsible for both.

      • FireRam

Deceitful practice: Yes. But,unfortunately,it is a very common occurence, especially in horror.

“In other words, this is 90% likely a cheap soulless cash in on fan nostalgia.”

You are absolutely 100% correct. Very well said!

After the “sequel,” this doesn’t interest me in the slightest.

Don’t you mean Lost Boys 3: The Thirst? If this is anything like the Tribe you can count me right the fuck out.

    • The Woman In Black

You’re right, and the title’s been changed. UC’s been under the weather today so cut him a little slack.
