Now The Roost helmer Ti West is in the director’s chair for Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever, a movie many are questioning the need for on this great big Internet of ours. Well, we managed to get a man named Eric on-set for the second-to-last day of shooting, and what he saw and reported back was more than enough to justify the sequel to me.

“200 gallons of blood. Three and a half 55-gallon drums of the sticky red. To see it sitting off-set with a frothy top is one thing; now imagine 60-plus screaming teenagers spurting all of that blood out of various severed appendages, open wounds and pus ridden rashes,” he writes in his full set report, which you will see closer to the film’s release.

Lauren Moews, producer of both the original Cabin Fever and Borderland, returns for Cabin Fever 2 and is hellbent on making sure that horror fans see a positive progression in the Fever sequel.”

Thankfully the right people seem to be behind this one; though Cabin Fever isn’t exactly a horror classic, it’s still well-loved by fans, and the sequel’s got a lot to live up to. Sounds like it’s doing pretty good so far.

Eli laid the groundwork with the first Cabin Fever, but fans will definitely not be let down by this one. Aside from all of the horror, I think Ti’s incorporation of 80’s themed films will bring something else to the fans. It will bring a certain quality, a goodness.”

Convinced yet? I don’t blame you if you’re not, but suffice it to say I’m pretty damn excited to see what they can do with it. Look for the full set visit as we get closer to the release of the film, and keep it here for more Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever updates as they come in!
