Even though Troma Entertainment’s Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead had a relatively small theatrical run at around three hundred theatres nationwide, it still managed to garner itself a #1 per-theater average. To say thank you to fans, the full movie has hit online, and you can now watch it for free! Take that, all you cheapskates out there!
“We’ve got millions of fans, but it’s difficult for them to see our movies due to economic blacklisting,” stated Lloyd Kaufman, President of Troma Entertainment and director of POULTRYGEIST. “For example, theatrical and home video hits like CITIZEN TOXIE: THE TOXIC AVENGER IV and Trey Parker’s CANNIBAL! THE MUSICAL have never played on any American TV stations – not even Showtime! Instead of taking a chicken feed TV deal that would put POULTRYGEIST in a chicken shit timeslot, we decided to just give it away so all of our fans can see it for free. It is thanks to our great fanbase that Troma has prospered for over 35 years! We owe them – big time. So let them have my fowl movement for free anytime they want to see it!”
Synopsis
When the American Chicken Bunker, a military-themed fried-chicken chain, builds a restaurant on the site of an ancient Indian burial ground, local protesters aren’t the only ones crying fowl! The previous tenants, fueled by a supernatural force, take “possession” of the food and those who eat it, and the survivors discover that they must band together before they themselves become the other white meat!
