The question beckons – can superior filmmaking ability be transfer from father to son? We can only hope. We are sure to find out soon enough as Sean Stone, son of acclaimed director Oliver Stone, brings us his new horror flick SecretStone!
The news comes by way of Variety (which seems to be on a tear today). The film is young Stone’s (pictured right) feature film debut and will tell the tale of a group of filmmakers who are shooting inside a haunted psychiatric hospital famous for its radical treatment of patients. They quickly discover they are not alone.
Considering most young directors make their jumping off point with our beloved splatter-filled genre, this makes perfect sense. Let’s just hope that he hangs around a while. The film stars Stone himself along with his co-writer Alexander Wraith and Antonella Lentini. It also features a cameo from screen legend Monique Van Vooren.
SecretStone begins lensing this July in New Jersey. Look for more as it comes.
