Scott Derrickson Shows Off Badass Concept Art For Unmade Paradise Lost Film

default-featured-image

One of our favorite filmmakers working today, Scott Derrickson has made quite a mark on the horror genre in the last several years, directing gems like The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Sinister, and Deliver Us from Evil. Up next, he brings Doctor Strange to the big screen, but today we’re here to talk about a project he *almost* directed.

Over on Twitter, @ScottDerrickson just revealed that he was at one point attached to direct an adaptation of John Milton’s epic poem Paradise Lost, and he also shared concept art showcasing his vision for the unmade film. The movie would’ve told the story of Lucifer, the fallen angel who became Satan.

The four pieces of conceptual art show off the evolution of Lucifer, starting off as Angel Lucifer and eventually becoming Satan. Derrickson describes the two middle stages as Rebel Lucifer and Fallen Lucifer, and we think you’ll find that the art teases a film you’d really love to see up there on the big screen.

Check out the unused art for the unmade film below!
