2010 MTV Movie Awards Nominees Announced; New Category for Horror

The nominees for the 2010 MTV Movie Awards have been announced, and shock of the century! The Twilight Saga: New Moon did not garner the most nominations. That honor went to The Hangover, but New Moon does boast a respectable five nominations. In addition, MTV has created a new category that should appeal to horror fans: Best Scared-as-Shit Performance.

Here are the categories in which New Moon appears:

Best Movie (voting stays live throughout the 2010 Movie Awards ceremony)
Best Female Performance for Kristen Stewart
Best Male Performance for Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner
Best Kiss for Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson

In addition Stewart, Pattinson, and Lautner are all up for Global Superstar (another new category) along with Johnny Depp and Daniel Radcliffe.

Other genre films can be found in the Best WTF Moment:

Zombieland – “Bill Murray?! A Zombie?!”
Jennifer’s Body – “Megan Fox Vomits a Mysterious Black Ooze”

Now, as for that Best Scared-as-Shit Performance category, here are the nominees:

Alison Lohman – Drag Me To Hell
Amanda Seyfried – Jennifer’s Body
Jesse Eisenberg – Zombieland
Katie Featherston – Paranormal Activity
Sharlto Copley – District 9

Aziz Ansari hosts the 2010 MTV Movie Awards LIVE on Sunday, June 6, at 9pm ET/8pm CT from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, CA. For the full list of nominees and to cast your votes, visit the official 2010 MTV Movies Awards website.

Where else can people watch Italian stereotypes, and teen moms whining about their lives?

Aren’t these the assholes who popularized shaky camera work and craptastic videos?

Last I heard they were addicted to ‘reality tv’ so stupid it has the power to lower your IQ to the point where you’d enjoy ‘Twilight’.

People still watch the MTV Movie Awards? Ew.
