Vamp Drama Moonlight Returning to the Airwaves!

Vamp Drama Moonlight Returning to the Airwaves! Were you a fan of the series Moonlight starring Alex O’Loughlin? Or maybe, like me, you missed it during its brief run and always wondered what the fuss was about. In either case you should be happy to hear that The CW will be showing reruns of the much beloved Moonlight on Thursday nights beginning June 3rd.

In one of the most perfect pairings of two shows ever, Moonlight will air from 9:00-10:00 pm ET/PT following encore episodes of the first season of The CW’s hit series The Vampire Diaries.

Synopsis:
Mick St. John (Alex O’Loughlin) is a captivating, charming, and immortal private investigator from Los Angeles, who defies the traditional blood-sucking norms of his vampire tendencies by using his wit and powerful supernatural abilities to help the living. In a life-altering twist of fate, Mick was bitten 60 years ago by his new bride, the seductive Coraline (Shannyn Sossamon). Forever 30 years of age, Mick’s as handsome and charismatic as the day he was turned, and he eschews others of his kind who view humans only as a source of nourishment. With only a handful of like-minded confidantes for company, including the eternally young, wealthy, and mischievous Josef (Jason Dohring), a hedge fund trader who relishes his uniqueness, Mick fills his infinite days protecting the living.

One night, years ago, a single act of kindness changed Mick when he saved a young girl’s life, making him want to be a better vampire. Now their paths cross again, and Mick develops a distinctive bond with Beth Turner (Sophia Myles), who has grown into a beautiful, ambitious Internet investigative reporter. Reconnecting with her unleashes feelings Mick knows he can’t pursue without exposing that part of him that would make him a monster in Beth’s eyes. As Mick lives between two realities, fighting his adversaries among the undead and falling in love, he discovers the mysteries and pleasures that a valuable life has to offer.

    • Especially now that David Boreananaz is heading “Bones.”

“We are bad guys. That means we’ve got more to do other than bullying companies. It’s fun to lead a bad man’s life.”

      • You know, other than Alyson Hannigan, he’s had the most steady career out of all the Buffyverse actors though. So he’s lucky there. Still, I bet they’re kicking themselves with the vampire craze right now.

        • Yeah Whedon doesn’t have a great track record for making stars.

          • I always thought Boreananaz was one of the worst parts of Angel. He may be pretty for the women but his acting skills are minimal at best. When he was called on to do an Irish accent it was an insult to everything Irish (even leprechauns).

Of course Angel as a show really didn’t work on any level. The Law Office concept was great and then squandered completely. The finale sucked balls.

          • I liked the finale. They had to wrap up at least two seasons worth of storylines in three episodes, I cut them slack.

            And Spike was always cooler.

            Angel is a pussy bitch.

  1. This better not be an experiment to see if they can revive this show and cancel Supernatural. Because if this piece of crap replaces Supernatural, I’m done with the CW.

    • Well, O’Loughlin’s in the new Hawaii Five-O so unless that show tanks, he’s otherwise spoken for.

      • Okay then. Imma bout to start hunting execs Winchester style.

    • I thought this was the last season of Supernatural anyway?

Regardless, I hated Moonlight. It seemed like one big cliche to me.

      • I thought so, too, but according to Entertainment Weekly it’s been renewed.

They’ve been showing marathon reruns of Moonlight on Syfy (still find it hard to type that) occasionally, so I’m not sure why the CW airings are even news. Doesn’t just about every cable/satellite company carry Syfy at this point? The ratings for the CW aren’t significantly better.

        • “Supernatural” airs twice on TNT everyday. I watch it all the time. Fucking show is still excellent in reruns.

          • Completely agree. Supernatural is easily the best show on network tv. If the show-runner is changing hands, I hope they keep it true to the characters- I can’t imagine things ending well for the Winchester boys, and that’s the way it should be.

          • Supernatural is definitely the best genre show on television. And yeah the way I see it is the guys just keep going on with their journey. There’s just no end for their battle regardless of what they do. They were meant to fight evil and that’s the cards they were dealt.

      • It was supposed to be, but The CW renewed it after all. Kripke’s stepping down as showrunner, though, so it’ll be interesting to see what develops.
