New Predators Image – Heat Vision Engaged!

A new promotional image for Nimrod Antal’s highly anticipated sequel Predators has hit the crazy thing we call the Internet, and it shows off one of everyone’s favorite extraterrestrial hunters utilizing his favorite tool. Brody and Braga don’t stand a chance!

Predators, a bold new chapter in the Predator universe, shot under the creative auspices of Robert Rodriguez, stars Adrien Brody as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who come to realize they’ve been brought together on an alien planet … as prey. With the notable exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold-blooded killers – mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members – human “predators” that are now being systematically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien Predators.

Look for the film in theatres July 7th, and be sure to also visit the official Predators website for more.

I want to like this movie. I hate and don’t even own Predator 2. These guys just don’t seem like an elite group of warriors to me. If the ultimate badasses of the original all got wasted then I can’t see these guys surviving near as long on the home planet. They should have used the cast of The Expendables.

I wanted them to hire Neil Marshall… but they didn’t.

What they did do was set it NOT on Earth and that’s a huge plus for the screenplay; it opens up all kinds of bizarre possibilities.

Also, it’s not a remake. It is a modern sequel. I’m good with that and wish Hollywood would think more in that vein.

Neil Marshall would have been interesting but he isn’t even interested in making sequels to his own movies. I’d rather have Centurion to be honest. The franchise has already been screwed up so if this one is bad too it won’t matter but if it’s good it’ll be a bonus.
