Released in 2014, writer Dash Shaw’s graphic novel Doctors reminded that dead is sometimes better, and like many graphic novels in recent years, it’s soon headed to the big screen in the form of a feature film adaptation.

Who’s directing? You’ll have to read on to find out. So read on!

Per THR, Mike Cahill, director of the indie sci-fi thriller I, Origins and Another Earth, will helm Doctors for 20th Century Fox. Ben Jacoby (The First Omen) is penning the script, and David S. Goyer is on board to produce.

The film will tell of a doctor and his team who can go into a dead person’s consciousness and temporarily bring them back to life. When a woman hires the doctor to bring back her mother, the act poses an unintended question: What happens when the dead don’t want to return?

Fox’s Matt Reilly is overseeing the project.
