There are three things not lacking in film lately: remakes, ravenous monsters, and classic revenge epics that show their love for the days of grindhouse! Julin Jean, the Harley Quinn-esque industrial chick who dances her way through Sweatshop, stars in Cherry Bomb, which promises to continue the fine tradition of hot girls with big guns poised to blow some faces off.
It’s 1984. An exotic dancer named Cherry has just watched the five men who assaulted her walk free with the help of a corrupt police force. Seeing no justice coming from within the system, Cherry enlists the help of her brother, and they take the law into their own hands and seek justice on their own terms … one bullet at a time. But with a professional hitman after them and the police closing in, Cherry is forced to put herself and her loved ones in harm’s way to satisfy her need for revenge and her desire to end the corruption that is plaguing the city.
On my wish list would be up-close gun blasts followed by splatter gore, some light dismemberment, and at least one half-naked girl covered in blood poised for a beheading…or a be-cocking. Yes, please! All fantasy aside, at the very least it seems we’ll get Jean as a hot Charles Bronson, and that should be enough to get butts in the seats.

Along with Julin, the flick co-stars John Rodriguez, Nick Manning, Allen Hackley, Denise Williamson, Dave Buckman, Alan Martin, and Connor Nobles. It’s produced by Jason Latimer, Garrett Hargrove, Laura Clifton, and Kyle Day with Austin, TX-based Strike Anywhere Productions.
