Synopsis
“Nancy, Kris, Quentin, Jesse, and Dean all live on Elm Street. At night they’re all having the same dream — of the same man, wearing a tattered red and green striped sweater, a beaten fedora half-concealing a disfigured face, and a gardener’s glove with knives for fingers. And they’re all hearing the same frightening voice…

One by one he terrorizes them within the curved walls of their dreams, where the rules are his and the only way out is to wake up.

But when one of their number dies a violent death, they soon realize that what happens in their dreams happens for real, and the only way to stay alive is to stay awake. Turning to each other, the four surviving friends try to uncover how they became part of this dark fairy tale, hunted by this dark man. Functioning on little to no sleep, they struggle to understand why them, why now, and what their parents aren’t telling them.

Buried in their past is a debt that has just come due, and to save themselves, they will have to plunge themselves into the mind of the most twisted nightmare of all… Freddy Krueger.”

Sadly it is possible to give too much coverage to a film.

At a certain point you’re providing advertising for the film company and not fresh/interesting information for the DC reader.

This is a perfect example of a company (Platinum Dunes) subverting a web-site for their own propaganda.

Even the most positive review of this film wouldn’t call it great. I think the coverage should shift to the companies who need it more and mostly to the directors/writers who have ‘knocked one out of the park’ for the horror fan in the past.

Instead there are a 100 articles for a cynical idea-pilfering money grab made by a director who admits he doesn’t even like horror. Not to mention producers who have a very real contempt for the genre and the people who love it. There’s no other way to explain their treatment of the films they have remade.

More coverage for the heroes, less for the villains and morons.

i.e. Heroes: John Carpenter, Neil Marshall, Christopher Smith, Don Coscarelli, Jake West.

Villains: The Weinsteins, Platinum Dunes, Shitty Music Video Directors Who Hate Horror, Any Flick With a Hot Young Teen Cast From A Teenybopper Soap.

Once you’ve paid good money to see this and support it thus ensuring the cycle continues forever you can have an opinion. Until then you’re an idiot. Kind of ironic isn’t it?

      • AngryChairr

Movies like this are the reason torrent sites were created. No one should pay for it; everyone should steal it; and all opinions should be vehement in their hatred.

      • DeTuinman

        Well…
All of Platinum Duds flicks I watched online, and I’m sure I’m not the only one….so no support here.
So the idiot is the one who presume’s too much…

Bloody disgusting has the same exact “article”…so yeah.
This is about money….cuz the flick is not even worth my time let alone cash.

You speak truth. Many horror websites have become the go to source for Public Relations for many mainstream studios sucking horror dry. Bloody Disgusting for once, which is pretty much a branch of Platinum Dunes, now. So much for being for the fans. Even their most negative reviews didn’t quite bash PD or the director himself and pretty much soft balled it.

After a while it becomes less about “Here’s something you can see” to “Here’s all that’s available for you to see,” and then with the overflow of information fans are given the movie for the movie that’s forced down our throats, and then we’re basically blamed for it.

Movie websites, especially the popular ones, are becoming the monster.

Oh well, it’s an endless ring. I tire of the genre lately. Moreso the fans.

Speakers up…..not expecting any SOUND from the thread. SHIT MAN! Scared the crap out of me! That thing(poster) is cool as hell……….well, now it is.

  • Terminal

Why does Freddy wear a fedora and not a beanie, or a baseball cap?

    Bet DC doesn’t know that.

    • Uncle Creepy

Actually when you see Never Sleep Again the look of Freddy has been thoroughly investigated and explained, so there! ;)

      • Terminal

Why does he wear shoes and slacks? Is there a dress code in hell? And if he burned alive, why was he never buried? And why did his clothes go to hell with him? Were they child killers too?

Someone’s been watching Real Time with Bill Maher.

          • Terminal

I had to repeat that joke! LMAO! When he said I went “Heeey, he’s right!”

You watch Real Time? I’m surprised, personally.

Why would you be surprised? I also get my daily news from Jon Stewart every night. I’m an edumacated man!

          • Terminal

Dude, chillax, it was just a statement. I’m always surprised when people watch Bill Maher because most people I know hate the guy. I know you’re smart: I’m still here.

            Wokka wokka!

        • DeTuinman

          Good one…
But the remake goes one further…
“We have made the burn make up more realistic”

          Huh?
The guy is a fuckin ghost, he can change in to whatever he wants but goes for a semi burned look?
          And realistic?
He was burned to DEATH, he should be a naked, charred skeleton!

The mind is like a parachute…it only works when it is open.
          F.Zappa

          • Terminal

Yeah when you break it all down it’s a pretty ridiculous concept to begin with. And he’s a demon, not a ghost. Either way, it’s quite dumb how they went for “realism.”
