Second Jonah Hex Poster Unleashed

The synopsis for Jimmy Hayward’s upcoming Jonah Hex talks about hell being unleashed on earth, and today the powers-that-be unleashed a new poster for the flick featuring, of course, Megan Fox’s “attributes” — despite the fact we keep hearing she only plays a very small role. Big surprise, right?

Yahoo! Movies released the new one-sheet you see below and promises a trailer this Thursday. We’ll find out whether or not Hollywood stays true to Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti’s source material when Jonah Hex, starring Josh Brolin, Megan Fox, John Malkovich, and Will Arnett, opens on June 18, 2010.

Synopsis
Having cheated death, gunslinger and bounty hunter Jonah Hex (Josh Brolin) has one foot in the natural world and one in the supernatural realm. Jonah’s unusual nature gives him the ability to track down anyone, or anything, so the Army makes him an irresistible offer: They’ll erase the warrants on his head if Jonah will find Quentin Turnbull (John Malkovich). But Turnbull, who is preparing to unleash hell on earth, is Jonah’s oldest enemy and will stop at nothing to kill him once and for all.

You're such an inspiration for the ways that I will never, ever choose to be.

After reading the reviews over at aintitcoolnews, I’m convinced we’ve found 2010’s Dragon Wars. God-awful, but everyone needs to see it.

  • Terminal

That is a REALLY awful poster. Fox looks like she’s going to a costume party, Jonah’s disfigured face is conveniently kept in the dark, he’s firing a huge gatling gun in one hand and a pistol in the other, the angle is wonky, the title fonts are terrible. Oh man this has stinker written all over it from the two seconds of films I’ve seen.
    ———-
“We are bad guys. That means we’ve got more to do other than bullying companies. It’s fun to lead a bad man’s life.”

    • The Woman In Black

Isn’t it just the worst? Fox looks bored and Brolin looks embarrassed to be there. Not getting a good feeling about this at all.

      • Terminal

Everyone is on auto-drive, it’s quite obvious. This production has been troubled from day one and there’s been little to no promotion for it. There’s not even an official trailer! It’s going to be a bomb from what I can guess.

Sounds believable. Especially after the early word reviews.

And yeah, I don’t get the gatling gun either.

          • Terminal

And “Revenge Gets Ugly”? Are they even taking this movie seriously or are we due for a camp classic? Imagine if The Dark Knight’s posters came out with the slogans “The Bat is in your bellfry.” It’s ridiculous.

            *sigh*

It’s all adding up to be what I was afraid it would be.

Crap. I was really looking forward to it.
