The feature debut of director Jim Hosking (ABCs of Death 2), The Greasy Strangler was the most talked about genre film that premiered at Sundance earlier this year, and there’s a damn good reason for that. As you’re about to see, the film is batshit crazy in the best of ways, but we must warn you that the trailer is very much NOT SAFE FOR WORK.
So watch it while the boss is taking a shit!
The Greasy Strangler is produced by: SpectreVision’s Elijah Wood, Daniel Noah, and Josh C. Waller (A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, Cooties); Rook Films’ Andrew Starke (Duke of Burgundy); and Timpson Films’ founder Ant Timpson (Turbo Kid, Housebound). Drafthouse’s Tim League, writer/director Ben Wheatley and Theo Brooks serve as Executive Producers.

Synopsis:
The Los Angeles-set tale follows Ronnie, a man who runs a Disco Walking tour along with his browbeaten son, Brayden. When a sexy, alluring woman comes to take the tour, it begins a competition between father and son for her attentions. It also signals the appearance of an oily, slimy inhuman maniac who stalks the streets at night and strangles the innocent, soon dubbed ‘The Greasy Strangler.
