More Casting News - Catherine Hardwicke's The Girl With the Red Riding HoodThree more stars have signed on to give Catherine Hardwicke’s upcoming werewolf tale, The Girl With the Red Riding Hood, just a little more bite.

According to Deadline New York the son of the great (and ultra creepy) Jeremy Irons, Max Irons (pictured right; Dorian Gray), Gary Oldman (anything that kicks ass), and Julie Christie (Finding Neverland) have all joined the previously announced Amanda Seyfried and Shiloh Fernandez in this re-imagining of the classic fairy tale, which is slated for an April 22, 2011, release.

The Girl With the Red Riding Hood, written by David Johnson (Orphan), is a retelling of the old Red Riding Hood bedtime story that we can only hope comes sans any sparkling entities and/or underwearwolves. Oh, who are we kidding? We know that they will be there. Either way, we’ll be watching and hoping for the best.

The original fairy tales by The Brothers Grimm were deliciously dark so keep your fingers crossed that at least some of that content makes it in.

Look for more soon.
