Update: Gears of War 3 — It’s On!

Gamers, rejoice! Now that the cat is FINALLY out of the bag, gamers across the world collectively cried “FUCK YES!” along with a fist pump of joy (myself included) … but it’s safe to say that no one is as excited as “Cliffy B” himself – Cliff Bleszinski, Design Director at Epic Games.
“When we released ‘Gears of War’ more than three years ago, we set out to tell the world an unforgettable story of bravery and sacrifice in the face of insurmountable odds, and a year from now players will get the chance to experience the final chapter in the story of Marcus Fenix and his companions in Delta Squad. This is definitely the biggest and most dramatic chapter yet in the ‘Gears of War’ saga, and we can’t wait to deliver it.”
With the recent news of the Gears of War live action film being put on hold (AGAIN), Cliff couldn’t have picked a better time to cheer up his millions of fans by finally giving up the goods he’d been teasing us with via his Twitter account.
The final installment in the GoW franchise is promising greatness as rumors of a refined cover system, underwater locations, potentially jungle and other foliage heavy locations, and the possibility of a female protagonist (which Bleszinski is not denying, so fingers crossed!) are gleefully running rampant within the community.
After seeing the trailer and these screenshots, I teared up just a little, not gonna lie.
Fans who want to share their excitement on Xbox LIVE will also be able to choose from new items in the Avatar Marketplace starting April 20 (ha haaaa) that will include the new COG armor introduced in GoW3!
