Three films we’ve been keeping our eyes on here at DC landed North American distribution deals at the recently concluded Cannes Market thanks to UK sales agent Jinga Films, and we have the full details below courtesy of Screen Daily.

First up, Benjamin R. Moody’s very well received Last Girl Standing (review) has been picked up by MPI/Dark Sky Films. Starring Akasha Villalobos as the sole survivor of a bloody massacre, the film follows her struggle to reclaim her shattered life. Wracked with guilt and paranoia, can Camryn ever have a normal life again, or is she destined to be alone? Part slasher movie and part character study, Last Girl Standing is a penetrating and intimate look at what happens to the survivors of horror movies.

Next is Ruth Platt’s thriller The Lesson (review), which was scooped up by Shout! Factory. Starring Robert Hands, Evan Bendall, Michaela Prchalova, and Tom Cox, the film follows a bullied school teacher who has a mental breakdown, resulting in a terrifying act of revenge on his students.

Lastly, Padraig Reynolds’ supernatural horror Worry Dolls was picked up by IFC Midnight. Starring Christopher Wiehl, Kym Jackson, and Samantha Smith, the film follows a detective racing against the clock to save his eight-year-old daughter from a voodoo curse.
