The Streamy AwardsDuring the Craft Awards portion of the 2010 Streamy Awards held the evening of April 7th, Robert Hall’s Almost Human Digital Effects Studio took home two awards for its FearNet web series “Fear Clinic”, which stars Robert Englund, Kane Hodder, Danielle Harris, and Lisa Wilcox.

The Streamy Awards are basically the Oscars of Internet web series, which is a medium that is definitely coming into its own these days.

In the category of Best Sound Design, Kunal Rajan took home the prize; and for Best Visual Effects the Almost Human Digital team of winners included Jason Bergman, Nicholas Onstad, Bethany Onstad, Jason Knetge, Erik Porn, Ikuo Saito, and David Dang.

Hall (who also directed the web series) responded to the pair of wins saying, “It is an honor for ‘Fear Clinic’ to win two Streamy Awards. It demonstrates all the hard work that our entire team put into the series to make this really deliver. To get such a great response between the viewers we’ve had and now to say we’ve won awards for it feels pretty killer.

There weren’t any other genre winners during the 2010 Streamys Craft Awards night, but look for more on Sunday, April 11th, when both Robert Englund is up for Best Actor in a Drama Series and genre favorite James Gunn is nominated for his work on the comedy series “James Gunn’s PG Porn”.

Streamy Awards excitement kicks off with a live online Red Carpet Pre-Show starting at 4:00 p.m. (Pacific), broadcast exclusively on Ustream.tv and streamys.org. The live online broadcast of the Streamy Awards Ceremony, hosted by actor/comedian Paul Scheer, begins at 5:30 p.m. (Pacific) on streamys.org. Or, if you have an iPhone, download the FREE Streamy Awards app on iTunes and watch it on the go.
