Exclusive: First Details on Truth or Dare IV

How many Eighties horror fans remember the very first(!) direct-to-video feature, Truth or Dare? It was violent, psychotic fun that spawned two not so great sequels. Now, however, the makers of the original are back and looking to set the record razor straight with the next installment in the franchise — and we have got the first word for you!

Producer Reaper M. Jones just dropped us a line to let us know that Truth or Dare IV will be going into active production (principal photography) beginning on May 22nd! The project will star rising scream queen Jessica Cameron, Reaper M. Jones himself, and newcomer Joshua Logsdon. Also producing will be Tim Ritter, Steve McNaughton (Reconciled), and John Bowker.

Look for more really soon including a synopsis and a steady flow of gory goodness to keep you guys playing this really messy game. Stay tuned as things are likely to get really sticky! In the meantime check out the trailer for the original film below.

Truth or Dare…man, I love that movie, yeah, it’s a lot of cheese, but I have to echo the sentiments about how much fun it is…

watching that trailer its so funny because its sooooooo drawn out. the flaming car sequence alone with guy having a slow reaction is..well cheesy fun then the over exaggerated fist fight with the cop…Sorry but I miss those days when stuff like this was put out. Todays direct to dvd garbage doesn’t even touch the class or showmanship/presentation these flicks had.

Iactually found this on vhs two years ago at an old mom and pop video store that was closing down. I paid 1.99 for it and it was easily worth more. Its a good creepy little feature and quite fun. It was one of the many vhs covers I would look at along many other horror titles when i was a little kid in the early 90s. God, i miss those days when the box art could sell you a better movie than you got but for somereason those flicks were still gold to me. While it would be 1994 before I got a chance to see the more violent stuff my dad allowed me to graduate from Universal classics and vincent price to 70s/80s horror yeah I became just as addicted to it as the classic Black and white flicks. Killer Party, The Hazing, Truth or Dare and so so so many others I feel in love with. I’m glad to hear this
