We’ve been talking about a TV version of The Exorcist for a while, and now word has come that Fox is indeed giving a series order to a “new take” on the seminal horror film.

Per TV Guide, “The Exorcist” series will take the form of a psychological thriller following two very different priests tackling a family’s case of demonic possession. Starring are Geena Davis, Alfonso Herrera (as Father Tomas Ortega), and Ben Daniels (as Father Marcus Lang). Beasts of No Nation‘s Kurt Egyiawan co-stars as Father Bennett, a liaison for the Vatican, with Hannah Kasulka playing Casey Rance, the wallflower of the family, who is worried about her sister, Charlotte (Brianne Howey), who has been holed up in her room ever since her serious accident.

The producer is Jeremy Slater (The Fantastic Four), and Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) is directing the pilot.

Look for more as it comes.
