New A Nightmare on Elm Street Stills Bring on the Violence

Other than a really good look at Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger, the only thing that fans have been craving to get a peek at concerning Platinum Dunes’ A Nightmare on Elm Street redux is some of the gory mayhem caused by the gloved one. Well, then … the wait is over!

The Samuel Bayer directed remake stars Jackie Earle Haley, Rooney Mara, Kyle Gallner, Katie Cassidy, Thomas Dekker, Kellan Lutz, Clancy Brown, and Connie Britton and focuses on a serial child molester murdered by angry parents, who returns with a burnt face and a razor glove to terrorize teens in their dreams.

Check out the latest stills below. For more info visit the official A Nightmare on Elm Street website, and look for the film in theatres on April 30th, 2010.

Thanks to DC reader Vlachos for sending these bad boys on over.

I love how Katie Cassidy’s highlights are bloodproof. FIERCE.

I’ve worked residential security to earn my keep for a few years now. One of the interesting attributes of this job that people ofen don’t realize is that we are often the first person to respond to the scene of an emergency due to the fact that we’re already on the grounds. Usually, we’re the ones who have to get inside the residence/building before the emergency personnel arrive and make sure there’s a clear path for the EMS people and police to facilitate their reaching the victim as quickly as possible. Consequently, I’ve seen first hand the results of a dozen or so brutal domestic violence episodes, the aftermath of at least two dozen serious household accidents involving kitchen utensils and even a few people who cracked their skull passing out on the john.

My point is, I’ve seen bleeding, seriously damaged bodies both conscious and unconscious live and up close many, many times and I’ll tell you something- what’s going on in those gorier pics is pretty damned close to what actual blood looks like when there’s that much of it thickening and pooling.I’m actually really impressed with this. I’m glad they avoided that classic trap of having the blood be a bright Kool-Aid red in such massive amounts.

Yep, you are very right. I was looking at those pics and also thinking how real that looked. The coloring is spot on. Now if only they could re-introduce smell-o-vision it’d be complete.

I stumbled across a site with automobile accident photos. It was the most unbelievable stuff I have ever seen.Guts, decapitations, heads laying by tracks etc. The thing was it all looked so fake to me since I have become so accustomed to screen effects. Just throwing that out there.

People love Tomato sauce in this movie it seems.

Is it just me or does the blood on tina just look like chili/diarrhea?

Third image down reminds of the scene in NOES Part 2 when Freddy burst out of the kid’s chest!
