Horror movies set in lush locales are always a treat, and we’ll soon be heading to the beautiful Canary Islands courtesy of The Cliff. The Spanish thriller, directed by Helena Taberna, is being released over in Spain on June 3rd, and we’ve just learned that Paris-based sales outfit WTFilms has boarded the project.

Per Variety, The Cliff centers on a promising attorney whose life is turned upside down when his sister Cordelia is seduced into a sect that commits a mass suicide in the Canary Islands. Daniel Grao (Julieta) and Jon Kortajena (A Single Man) star, alongside Juana Acosta, Goya Toledo, and Ingrid Garcia-Jonsson.

Iker Ganuza produced the film.

The Cliff is like a dark, twisty and sexy Scandinavian thriller transposed in the extraordinary cinematic landscapes of the Canary Islands. The visuals will take your breath away and it boasts a trio of very talented and beautiful upcoming actresses,” says Gregory Chambet, co-founding partner of WTFilms.

WTFilms will launch The Cliff in Cannes.
